On October 31, 1976 22-year-old musician Rand Garrett and his girlfriend 20-year-old aspiring actress Nancy Jeanson were at the picnic table #29 at Griffith Park when a tree fell on top of them crushing them to death. Their remains were cremated afterwards and scattered on the table and around the area where they had died in each other’s arms.
